The office of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is now providing electronic filing for certain immigration benefits. This allows people to apply for immigrant benefits from anywhere with a secure internet connection and pay their fees with a credit card or directly through their checking or savings account. The following immigration forms can be filed electronically for your convenience:
Forms Available for e-filing:
o H-1B o H-2B o L-1 Categories
o (c)(3)(A) o (c)(3)(B) o (c)(3)(C)
Each of the above listed forms has links to their specific e-filing instructions. Follow the instructions for the particular form you qualify for on the USCIS website. Before you can e-file you must register a user ID and password with USCIS. You cannot e-file if you are applying for a waiver of the filing fee or if you are requesting that your case be expedited.
Supporting Documentation and Fees:
For most e-filed applications, you will be required to provide supporting documents. After you determine which supporting documents are required of your application, make photocopies of those documents. Any documentation in a foreign language must be translated by a certified translator, and that translator's credentials must be included with the document. Use a printed conformation receipt notice, which is given to you after e-filing, as a coversheet for your support documentation. Do not attach a paper copy of the actual application. Mail the documents and cover page to the address provided on the conformation receipt notice, and be sure to keep copies of everything for your own records. Fees can be paid online with a credit card or routing number to a checking or savings account.
