Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson Arrested for Domestic Violence

Last August, Chad Johnson, receiver for the Miami Dolphins, was charged with domestic violence against his wife, Evelyn Lozada.

While out to dinner, Lozada questioned her husband about a recent purchase he had made. The conversation escalated into an argument, which continued until they arrived home, where Johnson head-butted his wife as their car sat in the driveway. She was sent to the hospital for a cut on her forehead.

Johnson was charged with simple battery, domestic violence.

According to A.R.S. § 13-3601(A), domestic violence means any act which is a dangerous crime and:

  1. The relationship between the victim and the defendant is one of marriage or former marriage or of persons residing or having resided in the same household.

Domestic violence is prosecuted harshly in the state of Arizona, and anyone facing charges will suffer severe consequences.
