Can You Explain The Various Sexual Crimes in New York? Part 1 - Definitions

Before we go into the various Sexual crimes, its important to first know the various definitions that apply to those crimes. Here are the basic definitions.

Sexual predator: A Sexual predator is defined as an offender who is convicted of a sexually violent offense and the court decides is likely to commit the same type of crime again.

Sexually Violent Offender: This is simply an offender who has been convicted of a violent sexual offense such as rape and a number of other offenses that incorporate any form of violence or force in them.

Sexually violent offense: This is both 1st or 2nd degree rape or attempted rape; all levels - 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree of sexual offenses.
