Philadelphia (1993)

An interesting and progressive movie at the time, Philadelphia concerns a wrongful termination case of a homosexual lawyer with AIDS. Although this is a sad movie, it is definitely one worth seeing.


The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996)

The People vs. Larry Flynt is a dramatized version of the real case with the same name. It follows the legal battles of Larry Flynt, the publisher and editor of the pornographic magazine Hustler. This is one of the most famous free speech cases in U.S. history.


Inherit the Wind (1960)

Inherit the Wind is a fictional version of the real Scopes Monkey Trial (The State of Tennessee v. John Thomas Scopes). Scopes was a high school science teacher convicted of illegally teaching the theory of evolution to his students.


A Few Good Men (1992)

This movie provides insight into the court martial system procedures, as opposed to the more non-military court systems, via the compelling story of two Marines accused of murdering a fellow Marine. At the heart of the trial is whether the Marines were acting under orders.


My Cousin Vinny (1992)

This quirky comedy starring Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei and Ralph Macchio follows a murder trial wherein Pesci depicts an obnoxious, uncouth, and inexperienced defense lawyer. But he pulls out a victory with the assistance of his girlfriend (Tomei).
