Aviation
law governs the construction and operation of aircraft and airports. While
states can create aviation laws, they cannot set rates or routes, and most of
the relevant aviation law is federal. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are the two most important
federal agencies for enforcing aviation laws passed by Congress.
Aviation-related lawsuits may involve accidents,
air crashes, product liability, safety violations, or criminal cases where
aviation workers' actions caused danger or harm to others. This is a highly
specialized area of law—getting expert counsel is important if you are in a
situation covered by aviation law.
