my right sholder has been killing me since the fall, and that was 5-25-12 i have asked my doctor if i could get a mri done. he told me to wait see if it heels!! so mean while, i cant hold my grandchild! i drop things all the time because of the pain it causes!! HELP!
First, find out from the doctor what diagnostic testing the doctor recommends. Find out the specific reason that a MRI is not being recommended. Then, seek a second opinion from another doctor and ask the same questions. Consulting with your attorney regarding these matters would make sense as well but the doctors are the ones who should make the medical recommendations.
I can feel your frustration through your message. In my experience, it is not uncommon for physicians to hold off on an MRI or CT scan and instead, prescribe physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, or some other form of conservative therapy. However, if you are in disagreement with your physician, you should consider seeking a second opinion from another physician. If you are represented by an attorney, it may be that your attorney may know of a trusted physician to visit to get a second opinion on the urgency of the MRI.
