This is the most important document in the lawsuit. If you make a mistake in the answer and do not raise the proper defenses your rights are at risk.
All the information you give must be the truth. The format needs to follow all the state and local rules. You really need counsel to advise you. You might find my Legal Guide helpful "How to Choose A Lawyer For You" http://www.avvo.com/legal-guides/ugc/how-to-choose-a-lawyer-for-you You might find my Legal Guide helpful " What Do I Tell My Lawyer" http://www.avvo.com/legal-guides/ugc/what-do-i-tell-my-lawyer No one can know what the record is in the case because online we cannot see your documents that show the complaint you mention. You need a lawyer. Check with a lawyer in your locale to discuss more of the details. Good luck to you. NOTE: This answer is made available by the lawyer for educational purposes only. How come your insurance is not representing you? I would call them and ask them, otherwise, if you are not covered by insurance, I would contact an attorney to file an answer since you may have some affirmative defenses that, if not plead, may be waived.
