I was recently arrested for a DUI in Arizona and released that evening with a scheduled court date of March 6th. My family and I are scheduled to move to El Paso, TX on the 15th of Feb. This is my first offense and i do not have any "priors"(not even a traffic ticket in the last 10 yrs) Is there any advice or information on how I can proceed with this while out of state or will I have to return to Arizona for every hearing, class, etc? What are the typical costs for hiring an attorney, does this include court and penalty fess?
It really depends which jurisdiction you were cited in. Some jurisdictions allow private attorneys to appear on your behalf for most court appearances, however not all do. Therefore, I would suggest consulting with a private attorney who has experience handling DUI cases in Arizona. With regards to cost of an attorney, these costs do not include court and penalty fees. With regards to the actual cost of hiring an attorney, I would advice you to consult several attorneys to see what their fees are.
