My mother is a US green card holder and had petitioned for a green-card for me. But after attending my interview in Frankfurt, my case has been sent to USCIS for further investigation in order to make sure if I intend to permanently reside in US. I recently have been admitted to a top US university. USCIS decision on my green-card case may take up to 4 months while I need to assure the university of my residential situation in US much sooner. How are my chances of getting a student visa? Can I request one while my green-card case is still current at CIS? Is it likely that CIS agrees to issue my green-card due to the fact that my admission can serve as a proof of my intention to permanently reside in US?
