Is madatory overtime legal? can you legally be fired for not coming in?

I live in the state of Florida(Pinellas county) and work over 40 hours a week.

    Answered . The employer can require you to work more than 40 hours in a week, but must pay you at a rate of 1 and 1/2 times your normal rate for those hours. If you refuse, the employer is able to terminate your employment.
