Is it legal to burn foreign currency and sell the metal to a yard.

I bet you anything that a rupee is worth more burnt than it is as currency.

    Answered . It depends. It is a violation of 18 USC 331 to melt a US or foreign currency with the intent to defraud. If your intent is to amuse or to create jewelry it may considered admissible. In any case, I would recommend to consult with a business attorney. Best
