I was an LPR when I filed I-130 to get my spouse but now I am already USC. I upgraded I-130 to IR-1 and later I learned about K3 Visa. I filed for K3 for my spouse to get here as soon as possible. How long is the processing for K3 visa and will there be a conflict between upgrading the I-130 to IR-1 and filing K3 visa?
I think you did the right thing! Sometimes, the processing times of K-3 is faster than I-130.
If your #1 priority is for your spouse to get here as soon as possible, filing both was a good idea. I always suggest that my clients file both too.
If you want, I can try to help expedite the petition by making an Attorney Inquiry to the U.S. Consulate in your spouse's country to let them know that you (1) filed the K-3 (2) require immediate processing; and (3) need to schedule his interview ASAP. They tend to reply to attorney inquiries within 2-3 business days.
You are more than welcome to contact me at (212) 252-2125 or via email at email@example.com to go over the details.
Overall, I wish you and your spouse much success!
