FlagMy brother was in a DUI accident that injured his friend. We're expecting to get sued. Can the suing party come after my mother's house? If so, what can she do to prevent that? My mother's name is on the accident car registration and the insurance is also under her name. She has also co-signed for the car at the time of purchase. Should she put the house under my name or is there a legal/insurance problem with that?
It is very important that your mother talk to an auto accident attorney as soon as possible. She also needs to make sure to turn this over to her insurance carrier. Even with her insurance company helping she will need a skilled attorney to help her.
Good Luck
