I Painted a car and they where satisfied with the paint. I received payment from the insurance company. Now they want money back

They check was cashed and I no longer have the money. Now the owners of the car say that the bank did not like the paint and that they want the money back or they will file a complaint and try to get the money back. Can they try and get the money from me?
