If it has been more than two years since your minor in possession conviction, then you may be able to expunge it from your adult criminal record. Until then, you will need to acknowledge it as a conviction. Was the open container matter handled in juvenile court? If so, then there's a chance that record has been sealed. If not, then you may need to acknowledge it on an employment
application. You can search on Avvo for tips
on expunging Iowa convictions from your record.
