I have a felony, (2 counts of larceny over 250$). My fiancé and I plan to getmarried this year. Also, I am on probation until 2015. Will this affect his opportunity for citizenship when we marry?
The felony probation your are on will not effect your citizenship, and consequently, will not effect your fiancé's basis for seeking citizenship after you marry. This is really an immigration law question and I have edited your practice area so that you may get more responses from immigration attorneys.
It should only affect your wife's process to get her residency if you were convicted of a sex crime. Otherwise, it should not affect the process. Have an attorney review all of your paperwork before proceeding just to make sure. Good Luck.
