If you have been charge with a misdemeanor than the maximum penalty would be a year in jail although that would usually be unlikely. While you should have a lawyer it is quite possible the court will appoint you an attorney if you are unable to afford one. Good luck.

  2. You need a lawyer. Punishment can vary but jail can be avoided.
    Good Luck!

  3. It depends on many factors. You need a good criminal defense lawyer who handles federal court cases... it is different that state court.

I am a former federal and State prosecutor and now handle criminal defense and personal injury/civil rights cases. 4. Federal Court is much more serious and expensive that state court, but possession on federal land like a military base is not likely to get you a prison term. You will probably get probation and you will be eligible for a federal public defender if you are indigent.
