I am an American citizen and I work abroad, I would like to marry my girlfriend in the United States.

My income is from a company abroad, therefore there are no tax returns because my salary is under the limit for working abroad. Is it better to marry abroad and then marry in the US, or simply get married in the US? Will they accept my income from abroad, it is triple the poverty limit. Thank you!
