How do you amend a succession in LA to add real property not included?

My grandfather died 50 years ago and had his property settled through a succession. However, 1 interest he had in some real property was not listed. How can the succession be amended to include this property. We have the purchase documentation.

    Answered August 01, 2012 06:30. An experienced succession attorney can do this . The difficulty may be in tracking down your co-heirs.You should first go to the Clerk of Court and ask for the Judgment of Possesion. You should then check the land records to see if there have been any liens or tax actions on the property.
    If a relative is occupying the property you might consider selling your interest to the relative.

    Answered August 01, 2012 05:42. You may have to reopen his estate. You must immediately retain an estates attorney to sort out the details and the chain of title. Do this immediatley.
