How can I legally use copyrighted images from the internet?
I'm writing an internet browser that displays images from websites. The images are simply downloaded into memory and immediately displayed, and they are freed from memory when the next image is displayed. In other words, the image is never stored on the user's hard drive, and there's no way for them to be saved permanently.

You need much more thorough advice than can be relayed via this forum. I suggest that you read the following case and then spend some time with an intellectual property attorney. See http://bit.ly/XgR0Z
Moreover, because you're creating software that will be publicly released you have many more legal issues to think about than simply whether your "browser" will infringe another's copyright.
