An Order for Protection includes within it the conduct that is precluded. It often restrains the Respondent form going to the Petitioner's home work or even school. It also often prohibits contact in any form including direct contact, indirect contact or contact through third parties. The provisions of a restraining order can vary from case to case. If the terms are violated, the violator is often charged with a criminal offense which can carry with it jail time and fines.
