Do not sign the contract if you don't understand the whole process. Make sure the contract you have been given by opposing counsel to sign is totally understood by you. Until the terms are clear and you know the obligations the contract lays out, do not sign it.

You can miss things if you are not represented by an advocate as your attorney.
