Can you still apply employment based green card if you work for a US company's HK office?

I am considering to take this offer from this US based investment firm. I will be based in Hong Kong though, covering Asian investments. Am I still eligible to apply for green card? I really don't want to lose my tie to the US because I may move back here in a couple of years. Thanks so much.

Generally, applying for a green card through employment is a lengthy process, and unless you are here legally you would have to be out of the country anyway.
