Lost house in GA, husband dumped me in fl with no money, ran off to LA.

Married almost 29yrs, and served most of his 20yr tour of duty in the USAF. All children grown, but what would you suggest my next move be? He will be due a lump sum ret. from a previous job soon, so I assume I need to get a stop on that until this is mediated.

You need to file for a divorce as soon as possible. If you have been a resident of the State of Florida for at least 6 months, you can file here. You will then need to serve him with the divorce papers and seek to obtain your portion of his lump sum retirement. As a long term spouse you are also entitled to alimony if you have a need and he has the ability to pay. You should consult with an attorney right away that can get this process rolling for you.
