Medicaid estate recovery program question?

My Mom passed away on12/28/08. she was on medicaid in Ohio for about 3-4 years.
While in the nursing home she was severly injuried,my sisiter and I filed a personal/negect injury suit against the home in April 2009.We won a judment this past week and have not received any money yet.

My question is can Medicaid take this money from us ,my Mom had exactly $0 in assets when she died.

Yesterday I received a letter from AG of Ohio stating that she owed Medicaid $142,588 ,and this is a debt of the estate only.does ths money fall into a category of her estate since she had $0

The lawyer who handled our suit said he does not know about something like this,I wonder about him.

I would not think this would be an asset, that is why I am asking this question.

Can I file a civil suit?

After consulting with a physician twice about laser treatments for acne scarring, and being told I would see drastic improvements, I purchased a package and paid in advance. Post treatment, I have seen NO results. The doctor agrees there is no change. So, I am out the money, and have received none of what I was told I would. I feel as if I paid for a cosmetic procedure and came out exactly the same, minus the money. Do I have a right to seek a return of my expenses when all I got was empty promises?

How to find attorney for libel, slander, defamation of character?

my son, his boss and another employee were fired for the accusation of stealing...and/or letting someone steal. Arrest were made, they went to court, it was proven that they were innocent of these crimes and that the crimes did not happen.
Yet, the accusers have ruined their reputations with the untrue accusations. They have not been able to get new jobs because these accusers have told future employers, employees and even customers that my son, his boss and another employee are thieves, the accusers have continued to spread this lie to also unemployment and anyone who calls them asking for references.
Each have lost personal things because of this and more. is there an attorney who would actually represent them in a court of law? and how do I find that attorney? thank you.

My wife got rearended in March 09, she's done with the treatment, just recovering at this point- My PIP is still recovering payment from USAA n told us not to settle w USAA as it will jeapordize their recovery. USAA (other car's insurance) keeps calling to settle for pain & suffrng & we've been ignoring them as my wife called left a msg saying last month that she's not ready to settle until she feels fully recovered. But, theyve been leaving a msg w/different amt of settlement offers still. Yesterday, they left a msg again saying that upon reviewing new medical bills, they were authorized to offer us more $ but didnt give offer amount. R we obligated to call them back? Should we call back and leave a message again to not contact us for awhile? What should we say? Or we shouldn't bother?

She got the traffic citation (failure to yield right of way) and though I tried to avoid it, she smashed the front and left side of my car and bent the frame. Unfortunately she has no car insurance and my insurance only covers personal injury and such (no collision). Can I sue her for my injuries and for totaling my car? I ended up at the hospital that day with neck and back pain.
