My spouse purchased a motorcycle in his name only and died still owing on it. Am I responsible for paying the debt?

Last year, while I was up north, my husband purchased a Harley, buying what he thought was insurance that would pay it off if he died. The insurance was simply an accident, disability, loss of wages policy that does me no good as he died from natural causes. Plus he was retired and already disabled so would not knowingly have purchased that type of policy. Am I responible for the debt?

What is recoverable in a personal injury settlement?

I was off work for 5 months due to an injury on someone's property. Their insurance company has deemed it an accident and has been paying my medical bills. I am now back at work and am calculating my losses. In addition to my lost base pay, there is lost overtime and other financial incentives I've lost. My employer is providing a letter that spells out the amounts. Are these additional wages recoverable? I also had to borrow money from family members to make ends meet while I was off work, can I recover those funds? I also sold a motorcycle to pay bills, can I demand monies to replace that asset?

medicals bills about $30,000.when I saw a MD, they had me present my insurance card from employer, "self funded policy", I was told, I could only get $100,000 from this women, 87 y/o, as her house was signed over previously to her daughter and she has "nothing" of her own.? power of attorney..I lost 6 months from work, am still in pain, and getting headaches...was told to take the $100,000, attorney will get 1/3, was told I had to reimburse employer for medical bills..so that would leave me about 25-30,000..I also had my new Harley totaled, and was reimbursed less than what I paid and put into it 3 months earlier...I am concerned about paying future medical bills if I "settle", thinking the insurance would say "preexisting condition"...was told no recouse to sue, as she has nothing..HELP

I was involved in a motorcycle accident. What I was told by local Police that it is concidered a Hit and Run No Contact. I went down with my motorcycle but was not hit by the on coming car that ran a red light. The driver fled the scene. I sustained only a bruised knee, so no Hospital time was needed. I found out that my Insurnace Co had dropped me with out my knowledge and I was riding w/o insurance. The other driver was at fault but will they be liable for damage caused in the accident? Will my MC be impounded?

My car was picked up for repairs. The car would not start it was a 1979 Lincoln. The individual got the car started and the exhaust system went bad. The cost to replace the exhaust system was more than I wanted to spend and the individual asked me if I would like to sell him the car. Before the individual met with me to pay for the car and sign any papers he was in a motorcycle accident. After he recovered he was having financial problems and told me that he would pay me when he could. After about a year I have asked the individual for the money and he always has an excuse for not paying. I asked for the car and he has not returned the car. He lives in a different county so I’m not sure where the car is. He works at the same Plant that I work, but in on medical leave. I just want

Motorcycle injury extended rental car compensation?

Somewhat unique situation, was injured when someone cut me off and I had to lay the bike down. They admitted fault and I will eventually hire a lawyer and file for future damages. His insurance got my bike fixed and provided a rental car during repair. Meantime I had surgery, but need to undergo a few months of physical therapy. I'm crutching around, well enough to drive a car but riding the bike is impossible until I heal further. The bike got out of the shop and now the rental car is no longer going to being paid by his insurance company. Question: if I keep the car and pay out of pocket (its the only way I can get around for a few months) am I pretty much guaranteed to get this money back as part of the settlement? If not, I'll try to borrow a car from a friend instead...
