Employee fell off a ladder from a job I picked up. I try to find work as a contractor and when I'm busy I call this person in to help. He falls off the ladder, I rush him to the ER. Nows he's after me to cover his expenses. Probably doesn't matter that I pay in cash, he's pt and has not been working ,most of the year. I'm extremly in debt, massive cc debt, home in foreclosure, selling my home furniture and keep looking for work. I'll go to court over this, have nothing to lose. If he wins a judgement, what does he collect?

Why are the private loans handled by sallie mae also protected from bankrupt cy? How can they keep adding so much in penilties?

I co-signed a loan with sallie mea 10 years ago, I think around $27,000.00 for my son. My son then had some mental problems(documented) and could not help pay back. When I asked for paying back they would always add all his bills and wanted over 600.00 a month. I could not pay that so they kept putting it in what ever they called it and adding on. Now I think my bill is 60,000.00. They wont say for sure and wont send anything in writing. I filed bankrupcy and foreclosure on my house. I have been paying them 300-400, they change, month right now because they are threating me with garnishment. Is there any way to make them send you a bill or stop them from daily threats at home or work. I would like a payment plan, balance and interest rate. Why has our government protected them?

My husband and I have rental properties in an LLC; however, we also have rentals with a partner that are not part of the LLC. The properties we have with a partner are not doing well and may go into forclosure, will the properties my husband and I have in the LLC be protected if the properties get forclosed on and the bank doesn't get the money to cover what is owed them?

My ex's wife provided his will 3.5 years after his death. HER son & her was mentioned in it - his two childred were not

Time of death there was no will. She found out his parents had an estate and split the property 5 ways with their kids. She did not get anything. Then all of a sudden his will was provided and is now going to probate. It was indicated his estate was worth the total sale of his parents property. When in fact his share was tiny - since he passed it would go to his heirs - aka his two children. His will stated that she and HER son would get the value of his estate - which he really didn't have one. His house was lost to foreclosure after his death. Credit cards maxed out. What is it called when HIS children is not mentioned in his will - only by 'other children'? Is she entitled to split the his share 3 ways with his children or what?

I want to hire an attorney to represent me in foreclosure mediation

I just want to reinstate my loan, but I can't afford the extra fees for the foreclosure. I also received a trial payments offer for Making Home Affordable. I've offered the bank attorneys a proposal to take the payments that I'm behind, but I haven't gotten an answer from them. I need an attorney to negotiate the reinstatement amount and/or get me a loan modification. Even if it's just to reinstate, I just want to get it done before the fees start piling up! Please help! I live in Broward County, Florida.
