Can my 93 year old father cancel a contract with a senior living community within the 3 day recision period?

My father signed a contract with a senior supportative living community that is currently under construction and sue for completion February of 2010. He wrote a check for $500 on a Friday and changed his mind on Saturday. On Sunday we called the agent on her cell phone and said we would like to exercise his 3 day rite of recision in Illinois and pick up that check Monday. She said she would have to check with her corporate office. What are his rites under that law?

Elderly never married aunt passed away. She had no children either. Will has apparently now been filed by her lawyer. We had asked to see will at time of burial. Found out that deed to house was altered two years ago to include lawyer in joint tenancy with sole survivorship.

can i get something off my criminal report

I had an over drawn check, that i didn,t know about. The check was for forty-two dollars. I don't believe I even owed it,but I paid it not knowing this would be on my record for good, ruining my chances for work. I have worked with the elderly all my life! Now I can't find work because of the this. This supposed overdrawn check was about 20 years ago. The store hasn't been in business for at least that long. I would have fought it but no-one advised me that paying is an admission of quilt, and it would stay on my record as larcenyI It me sound like a thief, and I have never stolen anything. I am disabled and would like to get a little part time job, but this is stopping me. I live in MA, what can I do?

Can retirement community force person into assisted living?

My mom lives in a retirement community and has a neurodegenerative illness which primarily affects her muscles, not her mind. She now requires aides 24 hours/day for her safety. The retirement community where she rents an apartment does not allow this and wants her to go to assited living. If she goes there, she cannot use the regular dining room and has to eat to a segregated area. She adamantly wants to continue living using aides and can afford to for several years. Can they legally evict her or force her to move if she refuses to go to assisted living or would the ADA protect her if we claimed allowing her use of aides was a reasonable accommodation for her to get access to a public area--the dining room.

This Attorney specializes in estate planning. It has come to our attention that he has has been having an ongoing relationship with individual and hired her to care for an elderly gentleman in a nursing home. While the elderly gentleman's estate was in the care of this Attorney, it has come to our attention that this person was paid $23,000 from his estate to stop by and look in on him weekly. Needless to say, this person was falsifying their time record and the Attorney was complicit because of his relationship. In June, this person was arrested for shoplifting, improper use of a firearm and possession of Illegal substanses. By the relationship has continuted. Should this Attorney be investivated by the State BAR for ethics?

How to maximize the damage award value in a wrongful death suit for my 94 year old mother and what states are best example

My mother died due to malpractice. The lawyers here say because she was old and had no earnings it is not worth the suit regardless of how gross the malpractice was. We find this offensive! What should a suit like this cost and if i complain to my state legislature what laws from other states can I sight that allow a high damage award for wrongful death regardless of age? My mother was misdiagnosed and treated for the wrong ailment. This was discovered only becuase we demanded an autopsy. She had ovarian cancer which was never diagnosed or treated in spite of being in a hospital for the last month of her life. On the date of her death she had 6 liters of fluid in her abdomen and 650 ml in her lungs that could have been easily drained but the doctors did not realize that it was an emergency
