I bought something on a flight then the bill never came to my address. I was overseas at the time. When I came home, it had already been sent to collections and originally a $70 or less bill has gone to over $500.
How can we clear this up?

Corporate credit card, personally liable?

Hello, I had a corporate American Express card. The company went out of business. American Express is claiming that I am personally responsible for the charges. I have asked for proof or something that I signed saying that I was responsible. They said they don't have anything since the card was issued originally in the 1980's.

Another person trying to collect told me that when I received the card in the mail there was some fine print attached that said that if I used the card I would be responsible.

The card actually says CORPORATE on it. What really are the liabilities personally? Is there a way to fight this?

This certainly impacts hundreds of thousands of people who have Amex Corporate cards issued to them by their company.

A judgement has been made against me but the firm will not take payments. What is my next move?

A complaint was made against in 7/08 me to which I called the firm and requested a repayment plan. They agreed but failed to send me one. I recieved a notice of judgement from the firm in 9/09 stating I could still settle for less. I then called and faxed to no avail. Yesterday I recieved a post judgement interrogaties packet. I called and the firms rep was a nightmare refusing to give me any information or option to resolve this matter. I am currently in a debt counseling program. What is my next move? Can I file a request to pay judgemet in installments? How do I not become 'incontempt of court' but still protect what little income I make but not giving information to the firm to use to levy my account?

Can I sue an ex-boyfriend for $10,000 that he owes me, even though we had no written contract?

In 2008 I gave my ex-boyfriend a loan for $10,000. We had verbally agreed that he would pay me back when he could. However, it's been over a year and I have not received a penny. I have emails and texts staying that he will pay me back but no actual signed document though. I also have a copy of the check. He's currently unemployed, drowning in debt and unwilling to cooperate. Will I be able to prove this in court and get my money?

I had a car loan with nissan motor acceptance and the car was returned as a voluntary repo.

I had a car loan with nissan motor acceptance and the car was returned as a voluntary repo. From there they stated that I had to pay the difference of 10,000. So I started sending them 25.00 a month and they were accepting it. Then they handed my case off to a collection agency and they accepted my 25.00 a month. Then the case was handed off again to another agency and they were accepting the 25.00 a month. Then a coule days ago, they stated the nissan brought back the account and now nissan or another agency is requesting that I pay them 3500.00 by the 30th and today is the 24th or they are going to garnish my wages. I have never received a letter in the mail stating that the account was transfered again. Please help.
