They recovered the item, but it was out of the package so it could not be placed back on the shelf. The cops were not called. I signed 2 forms ( I believe) but was not provided with copies. I know that one stated if I was ever caught in the store again I could be arrested. The other I think said that I would be contacted by their attorney. He stated it was civil, not criminal. I know they will send me a demand letter & am prepared to pay it to make this go away. How long do you think it will take for the letter to come & will it come regular or certified mail? What will the return address probably look like? Will it make mention of a law firm? After I pay it, will they leave me alone? Last week we were travelling in Iowa and he got a ticket for failing to completely stop at a stop sign (11-15-09). I have several questions: a) How will this affect these two court supervisions (will they turn into tickets themselves?) b) Would he even be able to get a court supervision in Iowa? c) If he decides to plead guilty and take the ticket in Iowa...what happens if he gets another ticket within the next 12 months? Can he go for another court supervision if it has been a year since he asked for his last court supervision or will the Iowa ticket require him to go a year from the Iowa ticket's date? While I saw signs she may have taken the items i didn't say anything since i didn't have any proof and wasn't about to accuse my friend none the less we were both given citations even though i didn't take anything. This is a first offense, if that's what being with a shoplifter is. What is going to happen to me, im worried about my permit, driving, college applications, etc. The police said i should tell the judge about my AP classes, grades, and community service but I still feel hopeless and confused.
