Me and my friend were driving from the clubs around 3:00 A.m. We both had dranked a few drinks. I was in the passanger side and he was driving. We got pulled over and we both went to jail. I got arrested for public intoxication. I went to court and they gave me deferred dispostion. After 180 days without disobeying the law they said they were going to dismiss my case. It has been now 2 years and I want to get an expunction? Is that a good thing? Or should I leave my case as dismissed? Around how much does it cost for me to get a lawyer in austin, texas and have an expunction?

Incorrect spelling of name on legal document submitted in a court of law

If a name is spelled incorrectly on a "Supplemental Order regarding request to intervene and for order unsealing court records related to search warrants", does this make the document legal? For instance if there are two persons related to the case with very similar names such as Mary- Ashley and Ashley-Ann Mary, If the Documents had Mary Ashley-Ann, would that make the document legal since none of them have that name and it could be anyone's guess who the documents referred too?

When and how can a Will be contested due to untimely filing?

In September I was informed that my father and step-mother died intestate, and that I was to receive 25%, and received "First and Final Report and Petition for Final Dist..." and a notice that hearing was to be in Riverside on Nov 13. Then the attorney told me that my nephew came up with a will after sitting on it for 18 months. Next I receive a Notice of Petition to Administer Estate by another attorney representing my nephew to be on Nov. 16 in Riverside, CA. Next my nephew's attorney sends a document saying he is going to do this by phone through Los Angeles. According to California law, the Will is to be presented within 60 days. What are my rights, and how do I go about contesting the Will if it is admitted?

Will we need a lawyer to represent us?

My husband and I have been married for 2 years. We applied for an adjustment of status for him. Before we were married he had tried to file through his first wife, then they got divorced. He then applied for TPS. He was given an order to Show Cause and Notice Hearing, The Board of Immigration Appeals administratively closed his proceedings so that he can apply for TPS. We received a letter from Immigration with a rejection of status because now it is not in their jurisdiction as an administrative closure does not mean termination of proceedings. His file has been transferred to the Office of Chief Counsel, and ICE. We submitted a letter to the EOIR group stating that he was eligibel through 245i. I told him that we should get a lawyer. He said it would not be necessary.

I would like to take over as POA for my deceased father inlaws estate

My father in law died nearly 3 years ago. We assume he did not have any property or assets, but believe that he was in alot of debt, so we decided not to pursue any action as far as taking over as POA. After the funeral we drove his car down from Pittsburgh to Maryland, where we live, and have had it sitting in our driveway in perfectly good condition since. We have no clue if it is payed off or still owed on, but I am now interested in finding out how/what I can do to transfer ownership into my name and pay whatever fees may be owed. My husband wants nothing to do with the process and has given me permission to "knock myself" out with finding out details and taking on POA. My husband and SIL are his only two living relatives and she doesn't want to be bothered by it either

Residential title insurance in Florida and trusts

In the public records at the court house, there is an affidavit and portions of a trust recorded that names the beneficiaries for a property that was owned by the decedent. If the title company has the same info as the court house on file and nothing more, can one safely assume that those beneficiaries named in the trust are indeed beneficiaries of the real property in the trust? The real property was not titled to the trust but went into the trust via a pour over will. Does the title company always find out who the beneficiaries are of the real property in trust to avoid a lawsuit? Would the title company need to keep a record of who the beneficiaries are in case there is a dispute? Or, can that info be kept private even from the title company? Thank you.

grade I was fired for poor work performance. Now i have requested a copy of the termination papers and they refuse to give them to me. aren't these my papers in my employee file that i can have copies if I request them? also there was a leak of confidentiality laws when someone told a normal worker why they thought I was fired. i had placed a doctors prescription in my employee file to show them that for a short time I'd have to take a narcotic pain med no one other than administration has the right to know this but I've heard workers say I was fired because of a medication prescription I was taking which is not true. Isn't this federal confidentiality laws broken? and can you be fired for someting that is contrdictory to your evidence of work that is evident to all? poor work performance

Only living heir has not filed estate.

My best friend passed away Sept. 2007. There was no will. There was cash left and owed under 3k on credit cards. House and car were paid off. Her only son and I guess would be the person to handle her affairs, has done nothing. Estate has not been filed, and he is living in the house and driving the car. Public tax records show that taxes on the house have not been paid in 2 years, and are still in her name. He is paying the insurance on her car still in her name. I know for sure he owes thousands to the IRS and back child support, thus probably why he will not have any of this legally taken care of and finalize her death. Is this legal and what can be done to settle this.
