I wanted people to know what goes on in juvenile court so much that I wrote a novel about it: The Public Pretender. The treatment of children in the juvenile court system and the adult criminal court setting has been of serious concern to me. Juvenile law applies to young children and teenagers—usually defined as less than eighteen years old, depending on the state.
