I love to travel! My family and I often visit my in-laws in Japan and we are always looking for opportunities to visit new places. This love of travel and other cultures is what led me to immigraiton law. In addition, I love studying languages. I am proficient in Ukrainian and Russian, but I also study Japanese, Mandarian Chinese, and Polish (but I don't speak them too well).
Immigration attorneys (sometimes called “green card lawyers”) represent people who want to come to the United States, whether it be for schooling, work, or just a visit. Immigration lawyers can also help “illegal” immigrants found living in the U.S. without permission. Immigration laws govern who can enter the U.S., how long they can stay, what they can do while they are here, and how they can become American citizens. If you are not a U.S. citizen and want to apply for a green card or other visa, or if you are already in the U.S. and have been threatened with deportation, an immigration lawyer can help you.
