Probation (non-Guidelines sentence)
Client pled to entire indictment with other counsel, facing sentencing on multiple counts of conspiracy to steal trade secrets. Government sought 4.5 years in prison, and many millions of dollars in fines and restitution. Was able to convince the Court that any losses were nominal at most, and that the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines should be ignored in this case. Judge agreed, and the client went home that day. Conditions of probation were almost all disposed with, and replaced with condition that the client continue to do his good works in the community.
