Judge John Murphy was convicted of bribery, extortion and racketeering in Operation Greylord, the heralded undercover investigation of systemic corruption within the Cook County, Illinois Circuit Courts, the largest unified judicial system in the Nation. Dan Murray as an Assistant United States Attorney, authored the 85-page brief on appeal, and orally argued the government's position before a three-judge federal appeals court panel. Held: conviction on all counts AFFIRMED.
