Not Guilty - Jury Verdict

My client, an African American man, was accused of assaulting two Caucasian police officers and charged with Assault in the Third Degree, a felony. The evidence convinced the jury that my client did not commit an assault but in fact was the victim of excessive force and racial bias on the part of the police officers. Jury returned its verdict in less than 30 minutes and hugged my client after the verdict was received. The case received local media attention and later led to a successful civil settlement against the police for civil rights violations.
