Sean Hayes is the only non-Korean to be employed by the Korean court system (Constitutional Court of Korea - 6+ years) and one of the first non-Koreans to be a full-time regular member of a Korean law faculty. He has lived and worked in Korea for over 10 years.
Sean Hayes brings a practical and proactive perspective to the practice of law in Korea with his numerous government contacts, Korean court experience and real-world knowledge of Korean litigation, regulatory, government procurement and corporate compliance issues.
No non-Korean and few Koreans have such experience. Because of Korean realities, no business operating in Korea should trust the advice of attorneys that have only law firm experience.
Sean Hayes is co-team leader of J & S Law Firm's International Practice Group and he oversees offices/affiliations in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, NY, D.C., and Sydney.
He is engaged for mainly complex business litigation, M & A, corporate compliance, labor & employment, market-entry and general business matters for Fortune 500 companies, major commercial institutions, real estate developers, individuals and entrepreneurs entering or doing business in the Korean and Chinese markets.
In his spare time, he enjoys sailing, golfing and writing articles for the Korea Times. In 2011, he will teach a class for the UN-mandated university in Seoul.
