I consulted with this attorney regarding a legal matter in December of last year. I did not like the way he spoke with me during the consultation. He was extremely rushed, disrespectful and superficial. He demonstrated a complete lack of interest to my case and putting real work into the case, but was preoccupied with my ability to pay. I decided not to hire him. However, I left a check for the consultation- $150. I published a negative review about him on his Facebook page “Law Offices of Samuel Curry”. Mr. Curry became upset and filed criminal charges against me for putting a stop on the check for the consultation.
Mr. Samuel Curry came recommended as a criminal attorney locally. I was told he does not overcharge his clients but my experience was different. The first consultation was supposed to be free, but at the end he sent me a horrendous bill including our first consultation. Basically my case was mishandled. I got punished more than I would have been without a lawyer representing me. And I ended up paying hourly rate for a lawyer who did not do anything for me and did not even return my calls. He simply did not care about me. I made a wrong choice for a legal representation and have no one to blame but myself.
Samuel Lamont Curry’s response:“It's unfortunate that you've had such a bad experience. Not sure who you a recommendation to use my service, but I do appreciate the referral. In addressing the claims made in this post I must point out that I have never charged a consultation fee for a criminal case. If I charge a consultation fee, for the practice areas that require one, it is paid up front and not billed. Finally, I have not excepted many criminal cases in the last year, and have not taken on a new criminal case in the past six months.
Not sure, why this comment has been posted. Maybe you meant to leave it on another lawyer's page. Although, I truly doubt that you ever retained or even attempted to retain my office for your legal needs.”
There are many competent attorneys in Baltimore. I have a reason to believe that Mr. Curry does not know immigration law as well as he advertizes. He practically jeopardized my application for Permanent Residence. He kept me informed about the process and the procedure, but he was extremely negative and unfriendly. I would not recommend him to anyone.
Samuel Lamont Curry’s response:“Again, it appears that you had a regrettable experience in your immigration case. I just question whether you obtained my service to get your green card.
Just to be clear, all my recent immigration work has been as a contractor with the school system. Thus, I have not been retained by any private individuals to represent them in filing an application for Permanent Residence.
It seems that you may be mistaken as to actually retaining my legal services.”
