Karrah has served as a member of the Knoxville Bar Association; Knoxville Barristers (Mock Trial Committee Co-Chair- 2013-2014); Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity- Knoxville Alumni Chapter (Service Chair- 2014-2015); and IDEAL Sisterhood (Downtown Divas Chapter Vice President- 2014-present).
Karrah graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in May 2012 with a concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution. While in law school, Karrah worked as a law clerk for Legal Aid of East Tennessee, where she gained exposure to many areas of civil litigation, including: family law, social security/disability benefits, collections defense, detainer, and elder law matters. At Legal Aid, Karrah had the opportunity to interact with clients as well as negotiate and advocate on their behalf. Karrah participated in UT Law’s Domestic Violence Project, where she assisted clients with obtaining Orders of Protection. She received training in facilitative co-mediation and observed and conducted mediations in General Sessions Court through UT Law’s Mediation Clinic. She was selected to the Hamilton-Burnett Chapter of the American Inns of Court and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity. During law school, Karrah received the Gold Pro Bono service award for volunteering over three hundred hours of pro bono service to individuals who otherwise would have been unable to afford legal assistance. She received Deans List Honors in Spring 2011 and Spring 2012 and was the recipient of the Excellence in Mediation Clinic Award in Spring 2012.
Karrah graduated magna cum laude from Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2009. She was a recipient of the Honors and Achiever Scholarships, member of Pi Sigma Alpha political science honor society, and member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
