I owe a substantial amount of money for parking tickets and moving violations to get my license back. If i filed chapter 7 could: I repay and get my license back as soon as possible!? Or do i have to file chapter 13 for that.
Edward’s answer: You need to file a Chapter 13 to get your license reinstated and get the citations discharged. As soon as your case is filed you can pay the reinstatement fee and get your license back.
I was served with notice of collections on an account, on the service paper it has the due date of 4/21/1915, could that help?: Delinquent on credit card account, I was served but the date is wrong. Since this is an official document I'm wondering if there's a loophole that would allow the case to be dropped or at least held off for a couple months. The amount isn't ridiculous or anything, and I've just been put on government income, because of a hip disease I've been unable to work for the last 6 months and therefore had no money to pay them with.
Edward’s answer: A letter is not a document on which a garnishment can start. Besides, your disability check cannot be garnished.
My late husband passed 2.16.15 after cancer leaving 5000 in medical bills. Do I have to pay the bills?: I have started a repayment plan but I am living on SS.

If your sole source of income is Social Security and you do not own real estate there is nothing the hospital can do to collect the debt from you. Even if it gets a judgment it will not be able to collect upon it. If you own your home a lien can be placed on any equity that exists.
I'd suggest you speak with an attorney to review your debt to make sure you can stop the repayment plan you have in place.
