Andrew’s answer: The only thing I would add to the previous attorney's answer is that in Texas one usually has to serve at least half of the time before being eligible for parole. Otherwise I agree with Mr. King's assessment.

Asking for best legal advice possible. am I better off being represented by an attorney or turning myself in & try to post bond?: I reacted horribly to finding out my 9 year old nephew was molesting my 4 year old son and his 3 year old sister. he had been going outside watching porn with two 12 year old boys and letting the boys be overly affectionate with his 3 year old sister. he was sneaking into a 12 year old boys house to watch porn with him and engage in sexual acts with him. he had also been continuously lighting fires even after several heart to hearts about family safety. he was misbehaving at school so terribly his principle had revoked his school bus privileges and his teacher reached out concerned with the way he was treating school friends. my sister, her spouse and i decided maybe he needed an old fashioned whipping with an extension cord like we used to get. we decided i'd be the one to spank him. i blanked while executing the spanking and caused terrible bodily injury resulting in welts and bleeding on his body. a detective called my sister and told her that i am going to jail and that she better come explain why he should not arrest her for handing me the extension cord. i called the detective in December and he told me he would be issuing a warrant for my arrest. i have 3 kids & im 6 mo preg

Andrew’s answer: What ever you do, do not turn yourself in first. It will be very difficult to bond out while in jail. First, find a good criminal defense attorney. Not an attorney that does family law or other types of law and only does criminal defense part time. Talk to the lawyer give him the facts. Have the lawyer help you get a bondsman. Then after you speak to lawyer, he and the bondsman ca arrange for you to turn yourself in on what is called a non arrest bond. The lawyer can approach the judge with a representative of the donging company there as well. the lawyer can ask the judge to set you a bond. This way will work much better than you doing it alone. You will need a lawyer to represent you. The sooner you get one the better and do not talk to the police.

Can my 20 year old boyfriend go to jail if I get pregnant at 15 years of age?: We've been together for 3 years and 8 months already. My parents support us from day one. Can he go to jail though I turn 16 in December.

Andrew’s answer: I you have been together this long. That means he was dating you when you were roughly 12 and he as 16 or 17. The short answer is yes he can get into serious trouble. Besides going to prison, if convicted, he will have to register as a sex offender for many years to come.
