How does an inmate in Georgia with FTA charges pending in different Georgia counties request an inmate production order? : My husband has been in Walton county jail three months pending trial for two felonies (he is asking for first offender on the felonies) as well as driving on suspended and failure to maintain lane but has a FTA warrant on traffic ticket in a separate Georgia county and possibly facing violation of probation in a third for traffic ticket. How does he request to go ahead and plead out on the two misdemeanours for time served instead of having to wait several more months for court only to be sent to two more counties after? We cannot afford another attorney after spending $10,000 for mine to force me into a bad plea deal.

Got a speeding ticket, never gotten one before and im afraid because i dont know if jail time is a possibility if i just pay it?: so about a month ago i got a speeding ticket. i was clocked doing 92 in a 70. i know all the info about super speeder tickets ect.. my question is there potential of jail time for this. i was not charged with reckless driving. my ticket says offense speeding and its coded 40-6-181.

Usually in Georgia Speeding Tickets don't require jail time. I understand that you say you understand about Super Speeder tickets in GA. However, I want to make sure that you understand there is the possibility of getting the speed reduced in order to avoid the Super Speeder penalties. I would recommend that you talk with an attorney that regularly practices in the court that will hear your case. The attorney may be able to find a defense to the ticket or convince the government prosecutor to reduce the speed to a non-Super Speeder speed. If this is possible it would prevent you from having a Super Speeder in the first place. In most of these types of ticket jail is usually not a concern, but the local attorney should be able to tell you what the court normally requires in this type of case. Finally, if you don't do anything to avoid the Super Speeder your insurance can SKYROCKET for years because of this ticket. I hope this information is helpful to you. Good Luck!

I have a Michigan Drivers License & got a speeding ticket yesterday in Georgia, will my home state be notified about the ticket?: I'm working in Georgia & have a MI drivers license & got a speeding ticket. 71mph in a 55mph zone

You are in a special situation because you have an out of state drivers license. Special care needs to be taken to prevent any adverse consequences to your license. The first question is - Does Michigan have an Interstate Compact with Georgia to share traffic citations/DDS information? You probably should contact an attorney in Michigan to see if they share traffic citation info with Georgia. Second - the ticket you received in Georgia would put points on a Georgia Licensed Driver's driving record. However, you should check to see what effect a Speeding Ticket for 16 mph over the speed limit would have on your Michigan license. If it would adversely affect your Michigan license, I would recommend hiring a Georgia attorney that regularly practices in the court that will be handling your ticket to help get the ticket dismissed or the speed reduced so it would not affect your license. Additionally, the attorney may be able to prevent the ticket from being reported to the state by agreement with the government, or a reduction/change in the charge.
