If you get indicted while in jail and get no bond will you stay longer ?: My bf was supposed to get out tomorrow but he got indicted but has no bond & he has court tomorrow will he still get out and just be on probation til his trial ?
Jamilah’s answer: Yes, he will stay in jail on the new indictment until he receives a bond on that charge. There will be a hold on his release. If he needs a bond hearing on the new charge, he should retain local counsel to get that process started. Good luck on the case.
Process of expunging reckless driving from permanent record?: I’ll pay whatever it costs to have this charge removed.
Jamilah’s answer: Virginia only allows for expungement of criminal charges that were dismissed, nolle prossed (withdrawn), or if a person was found not guilty. There is also an exception to allow an expungement if another person committed a crime in your name. Other than that, any conviction will remain on your record no matter how old or minor.
Is there a way my probation officer can help me make a change to my protection order ?: So I was convicted for my crime and of course a protection order was put in place for me not to be around anyone under the age of 18 and where I'm at now is very uncomfortable and to try to live anywhere else everyone has kids nowadays and I just at least want it changed to at least being supervised around anyone under the age of 18 so I can get out of where im at to be happy is it possible it can get changed to that through my p.o. if I put in a motion or however it works??
