Can an F1-student be on two leases for two apartments?: Initially, the F1 student was one of the two lessees for one apartment. Now, she moved a bit closer to her college and signed on a lease for another house. She is paying rents for both the houses as she is not being able to find someone to transfer her lease to. Is there gonna be a legal problem for her?

Arkady’s answer: So long as she continues to attend her classes to maintain an F1 status, this should not be an issue.

Isn't my case closed after judgement of non pros?: sent my landlord 10 day notice that I would be filing a praecipe judgment non pros, because he didn't file a complaint, but instead of him doing so he files a petition for emergency eviction instead. I wait the time frame anyway, file the praecipe for judgment non pros, it is granted and the case now says it's closed. In the meantime a hearing on the emergency eviction was already scheduled,. Will it now be dismissed? Or is there some thing I need to file to have it dismissed since the case is now over and judgement in my favor? Does the landlord have to start over at MDJ level again? or do I have to still go to eviction hearing and explain all to the judge?

Arkady’s answer: Although an entry of a judgment non pros would make the petition moot, I would nevertheless call the prothonotary to confirm whether this judgment was, in fact, entered and whether the hearing has been cancelled. If the hearing is still scheduled, I would come to court and explain to the judge that a judgment in your favor has already been entered.
