Is this intrusion of seclusion?: I was living in an apartment and moved to a different complex. I did not want my ex-husband to find me because of a domestic violence situation and also the manager of my former apartments was threatening the tenants. I paid my rent for the month, packed up and moved to my new apartment and turned in the keys at the old apartment and did not ask for my security deposit back. My ex-husband had called my former apartments and other places looking for me. The management company of my former apartments had a letter for me ( which I did not know about ) wanting more money but I did not put in a change of address. The letter is in my name but they sent it to my ex-husband at his address which I have no association with. This seems wrong and how did they get his address?

David's answer: What is intrusion of seclusion? I don't know that that's a legal term, certainly in Louisiana I don't think it is. It seems reasonable that if they cannot contact you, they would send it to someone who is close. I'm sure they didn't know about the domestic violence issues. You could always call them and ask why they did that. -- The answer given here should be considered general in nature and should not be considered legal advice, or that there has been an attorney-client relationship established. Are u legally sepertated after a year?: My husband and I have been seperated a year, we have a son together. I have not filed for divorce because I can not afford a lawyer. After a year are you legally seperated or do you have to file for divorce first. I just recently started dating a guy and I was wondering if thats adultery even though we have not been together for a year?

David's answer: After a year you are not "legally separated," and there really is no such thing in Louisiana, and it certainly is not automatic. However, the time period of separation does entitle you to certain divorces. Are you asking is it adultery morally or legally? -- The answer given here should be considered general in nature and should not be considered legal advice, or that there has been an attorney-client relationship established.
