Paul’s answer:
This sounds like a tragedy that may have been avoided. My Firm cannot assist in the review, however, you can contact attorney Henry below who’s Firm practices in this area. Tell him that attorney Levin from Connecticut referred you to him. Very sorry. Paul

In 2015 I Asked for some advice about Workmans Comp. Computer crashed & lost everything: My Question was that I used to work for AT&T, I had several on the job injuries. #1 in 2003 lower back had a Disctectomy w/a 11.5% PPD, #2 in 2009 Right Shoulder & Neck w/a 18.5% PPD Shoulder & a 23% PPD Neck. #3 in 2015 Left Shoulder & Neck w/a 11.64% PPD Shoulder & a 12% PPD Neck. For a Total of 76.64% PPD. Now in 2015 The lower back Started acting up from the 2003 injury, I had to have 2 Levels fused in 2016 and I am now in Physical Therapy. In the Time that my back started acting up AT&T sold the Company to Frontier Comm. It looks like this back surgery is going to be career ending, I'm only 56 yrs old. Now do I have a case to be compensated for my injuries from AT&T. I no longer work for AT&T but they own all of my claims. By the time I get Rated for My back Fusion, I should be 85 - 90% PPD

Paul’s answer: To be candid, your only asking some of the right questions so discussing your situation with a CT based lawyer appears to be a wise decision. Clearly its your instinct to do that and one has to be careful about putting too many details or basing your decisions on only limited information responses on open platforms such as these. Also, having dealt with ATT in the workers comp setting, there sre some peculiarities that pertain. Hope that helps. Paul

Is my lawyer putting my best interests first?: It's been 16months since I was seriously injured in a car accident where the other driver was cited and their insurance accepted full liability a month after said accident. I required shoulder and bicep surgery, permanent disc and mid back damage requiring lifelong chiropractic visits as well as permanent shoulder pain and discomfort possible 2nd surgery. I reached MMI this past October 2015 and my lawyer sent a demand letter end of December 2015 asking for full policy limits and gave insurance 60days to reply. Insurance called on the 60th day claiming they need another 4 to 8 weeks to review MRI DISC. I thought this was unacceptable as 60days should be sufficient time to go over case. It's been an additional 4 weeks since the 60days passed still nothing from Insurance should I be concerned, liability was accepted by other insurance and driver was cited. I have been out of work over a month now and am getting close to loosing things, having utilities cut off for me and my 4year old. I thought the reason you obtain an attorney is to avoid being played by insurance company? Please advise should suit be filed to press insurance I do not want me and my son out on the street.

Paul’s answer: In my view, such fundamental lack of confidence in your existing attorney client relationship is startling. Not every law firm has the same methods and procedures though all must place client interests first and take prompt actions to secure those. Primary Suggestion is to have a frank discussion with existing counsel and secure a pathway that addresses scenarios incliuding both prompt resolution or the initiation of litigation. Second opinions from CT Law Firms having demonstrable expertise in this area are useful but cannot be achieved over an open forum internet Q & A. Take the time to meet with local counsel and make sure whose providing the advice. There are some good options available. Paul
