Can i keep my mobile home which is paid for but in a park i pay lot rent?: I'm in Florida and own a mobile home paid in full. I have a dental lab that might make it another couple of years. I owe nothing that has collateral. I have 2 cards, a line of credit and a credit card thru my dental lab. If lab shirts down I will not be able to pay those on social security checks. Do I get to keep my mobile home. Truck is paid for...
Lori’s answer: Generally speaking, a mobile home that is the primary residence is exempt if you have lived in Florida for at least two years. The rest of the question is really best answered in a bankruptcy consultation with an experienced bankruptcy attorney. Good news is there are a lot of really great ones in the Orlando area!
Does a discharge ch 7 remove judgement ?: Had/have a judgement lien on my house for a discharge and a motion for lien avoidance was made and granted. Is the judgement gone?
Lori’s answer: A certified copy of the order avoiding the judgment lien needs to be recorded with the county where you live. Then you’re all set!

He has never put my name on the mortgage nor the deed. We jointly own a pickup truck and two personal checking accounts. We have no other joint debt. We each own a motorcycle. He owns his motorcycle and I signed it over to him his birthday this year which was February of 2024 and he signed mine over to me in March of 2024 as a birthday present and it is titled in my name solely I don't know if he titled his or not. He has been out of work since February of 2022 has not made a mortgage payment since December of 2021. How am I affected by this bankruptcy and should I be involved in it?
Lori’s answer: Although you gave a lot of information it’s not nearly enough to give an answer that you’re looking for. There is an excellent bankruptcy attorney near you named Roy Praver. Give him a call and go see him to figure this out. Good luck!
