Is it illegal to seperate a husband and wife and not allow them to have any form of communication against their will?: I was forced out of my home with my husband and we were kept seperated for months, with no form of communication whatsoever. I cannot explain for which reasons but it was against our will and we did not want this at all. I could not do anything about it, what law covers this?
Jeffrey's answer: The laws covering this would normally be criminal or domestic violence, but usually one of you would have to be in agreement with the restriction. If one of you was arrested, the State of Florida is able to keep you both separated as part of the bond provisions, even if you both don't want that.
My husband is a retired navy disable vet we have been 15 yrs am I intitle to half his pension?: We're married in 1997 and got out of the military in 1993 the year our daugther was born and she is now 18 and in college...please help...
Jeffrey's answer: You were married after he retired from the military, so his pension was earned prior to your marriage, and you would not be entitled to any portion of it as equitable distribution of an asset. However, if he is receiving pension payments, it would be considered as income to him when determining any alimony to be paid.

Jeffrey's answer: The short answer is no, but I assume he has filed for this relief in Texas, and so a Texas divorce lawyer would be better able to answer this question.
