How do I get my license for the first time if it’s been suspended in Maine?: Since I’ve never had a license before my license suspension, does suspension come in to play as of notification of it anyway or does it start after I managed to get a license. If I was moving can I still get a license in other states/places?
Edmund’s answer: Your license suspension will take effect when it is imposed, as stated in the suspension notice. Your "license" is defined by Maine statute to include your right to apply for a license. You will not be allowed to apply for a driver's license until you have served the suspension period stated in the notice and until you satisfy all other conditions for acquiring a driver's license.

I paid her reg. And property tax. I just of taken her car to pay these and planned to do mine after.
How I forgot is unbelievable. I never forgot before. If found guilty will this effect my drivers license and auto insurance? And if I get a lawyer now much do I expect to pay them?

Can one receive a criminal oui when they were not in a vehicle and not on the road?: I received and OUI when I was got my car stuck in the middle of the woods on a friends private property. ? They were looking for me for 6 hrs. I walked out of the woods.
Edmund’s answer: Attorney Hansen is correct. To commit OUI in Maine, a person only has to put power to the wheels of a motor vehicle -- anywhere -- while to some degree impaired by alcohol. Because there is no public way requirement, operating a motor vehicle in the middle of the woods while under the influence violates the OUI statute. But what is the quality of the admissible evidence that the State has, to prove you were under the influence while driving a motor vehicle in the middle of the woods on your friend's property? That's the big question.
