Jennifer’s answer: Sounds like this is the first time for you to petition name change - Bring your birth certificate, if you have been married or divorced, bring those certificates as well, all must be original, then file CJ-P27 with the local court near you. Court clerks may also assist you if you decide to do this without an attorney.

No filing fee if you were just granted asylum and this is your initial EAD app under a5 category.
It is only necessary to renew if your current EAD under C8 will expire in 90 days.
Now you can bring your spouse and children to the Unites States, be sure to act quickly, because some benefits are available only for a limited time after you are granted asylum.
Make sure that your asylum case is not on appeal, and you received a final order, not conditional or recommended approval.
Do arrests without arraignment show up in an FBI fingerprint background check?: I was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting, fingerprinted, and released. The next day at court the D.A declined to press charges and I was let go. No CORI record. How would this show up on an FBI fingerprint check though? I'm going to need one to obtain a teaching license. Would this bar me from receiving my license? :/

It should not show up on an FBI fingerprint check. If you want to be sure, pay FBI $18 and send your fingerprint card to FBI and run the check.
If you do not know how and where to do this, many attorneys can run this for you.
